Potato Croquettes ~ crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and sure to please anyone and everyone 😍 "The croquette originated in France and it was in 1898 that Monsieur Escoffier, the founder of the classical French Cuisine, together with the help of Monsieur Philias Gilbert started to write down the recipe. The classical formulation and procedures were in place." Ingredients For croquettes: 2 large potatoes 2 egg yolks 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp spanish paprika 1 tsp chilli flakes 2 tbsp green onion 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp ground black pepper 1/8 cup bread crumbs oil for frying For coating: 10 sliced cheese 1/8 cup water 2 egg whites 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1 1/2 cup bread crumbs Procedure: In a large bowl, grate the boiled potatoes. Add egg yolks, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper, fresh green onion and breadcrumbs. Mix well to combine all the ingredients. Chill for 1hr. Wet palm with water and take some potato mixture. Flatten on hand, put cheese in between and form a cylindrical shape. Coat first on flour, next to egg yolks and last on bread crumbs. Refrigerate for 30 mins. Heat oil and fry croquettes for 2-3 mins until golden brown. Transfer to a kitchen paper towel to drain. Serve warm. #potatorecipe #potatocroquettes #mashedpotato #cheesefilled
